Morris & Co

Illustrated response to the 2025 D&AD New Blood brief from Morris & Co

The Morris & Co brief called for an illustrated, out of home advertising campaign consisting of a billboard design as well as a run of Instagram posts, compatible with stories and posts, and Pinterest content.
I really enjoyed responding to this brief. My idea centred around using Morris & Co’s most iconic and recognisable archive designs, and placing them in the home of the customer. The brief was to advertise Morris & Co as an e-commerce entity; moving away from B2B sales. I had to appeal to a customer that appreciated the heritage, history, and craftsmanship of their products as well as realising that they are able to buy them!

To achieve this I put the designs in the home of the customer, with a bold, eye catching, somewhat tongue in cheek illustration, and text that detailed some of the most famous homes and establishments that still have original Morris wallpaper or furnishings. I then added the hook ‘your kitchen…your living room’ etc to anchor the idea of the customer purchasing through e-commerce.
Lastly, my billboard design celebrated the work of the designers at Morris & Co who work with the archive to create bold new designs for the home. To show this I drew a classic plan chest, with a fold out, dolls-house style home protruding from it. Each room features some or Morris & Co’s iconic designs.
